HJ-310 wetting Agent

HJ-310 penetrant are key additives in melamine paper impregnation. They are necessary to overcome the resin's high surface tension and the paper's dense fibers, ensuring the resin is absorbed correctly.

Key Functions of HJ-310

1. Reducing Surface Tension and Accelerating Wetting

This is the core function of a penetrant. MF resin systems are typically aqueous with high surface tension, making it difficult for the liquid to rapidly enter the microscopic voids between paper fibers.

· Mechanism: It significantly lowers the surface tension of the resin solution, allowing it to spread quickly across the paper surface and wet the fibers.

· Result: It shortens the time required for the "dipping" process, thereby increasing production line speed and overall efficiency.

2. Enhancing Penetration Depth and Uniformity

To guarantee the quality of the impregnated paper, the resin must fully saturate the internal voids of the paper rather than just staying on the surface.

· Deep Penetration: The agent helps the resin overcome capillary resistance between fibers, ensuring the paper is "soaked through" and preventing an un-impregnated core.

· Eliminating White Spots: Uniform penetration prevents local "dry spots" or "white spots" (areas without resin) after pressing, ensuring full color saturation and consistency of the decorative paper.

3. Evacuating Air from Paper Fibers

Paper contains a large amount of trapped air. If not displaced in time, this air can cause bubbles or delamination during the subsequent drying or hot-pressing stages.

· De-aeration: By enhancing the wetting capability of the resin, the agent effectively displaces tiny air bubbles between fibers, reducing pinholes and surface defects in the final product.

4. Assisting the Distribution of Other Additives

The formulation for impregnated paper usually includes curing agents, release agents, and plasticizers.

· Synergistic Effect: Wetting agents improve the compatibility of the entire resin system. This ensures that functional additives are distributed evenly alongside the resin throughout the paper fibers, resulting in consistent physical properties (such as curing speed and surface gloss).
