ORIENTED STRAND BOARD (OSB)

What is OSB - Oriented Strand Board?

OSB stands for Oriented Strand Board, which is a type of engineered wood product. It is made by compressing layers of wood strands with adhesive under high pressure and temperature. The bonded layers of long wood strands, arranged at right angles to each other, provide apanel with excellent modulus of elasticity and bending resistance values.

ORIENTED STRAND BOARD (OSB) USES

OSB formats assure high versatility in building walls, which along with its moisture resistantproperties make this an unique product. This product is suitable for practically all kinds of roofs, including bitumen, bricks and tiles.

When used in combination with solid wood to form L-junctions, construction becomes cheaper andsimpler.

OSB is also excellent for flooring, from use in dry domestic conditions to use in high moisture conditions. lt has a tongue and groove system on 2 or 4 edges, for fixed or floating construction

OSB also provides a wide range of decorative options due to its natural wood pattern, varnished orpainted, is an interesting solution for furniture and interior decoration.
In the packing industry, under wet or dry conditions, OSB gives a higher cost-benefit ratio due to itsresistance, lightness and availability in larger sizes.

OSB is a truly eco-efficient option with excellent mechanical performance. The raw materials used are small logs of previously selected wood.

However, the surface of OSB board is usually not smooth and uneven, so it cannot be directly used as a lamianted panel. You can choose LSB (FINE OSB) which have a smoother surface ,it can be used for suface laminate process.

WHAT WE OFFER

Fine OSB

Fine OSB designed for lamination uses (LSB)
Fine OSB are based on ordinary OSB, and the upper and lower surface layers are paved with fine powder. Different from the rough and uneven OSB on the market, its surface is smooth after sanding. It can be directly laminated with veneer or impregnated paper (LSB) , and processed into various decorative panels, which makes up for the defect that the OSB cannot be directly decorated due to the exposed large shavings.

Applications

● Furnitre and decoration
● Packaging
● Load-bearing use in humid conditions
● Wall cladding

Advantages

● Can do direct lamination
● Green and environmental protection
● Dimensional stability and no deformation

● Excellent waterproof performance

Applications

● Furniture
● Retail and exhibitions
● Decorative area in indoor spaces
● Roof finishing
● Load-bearing use in dry conditions

Advantages

● High resistant and stability
● Versatility

OSB 2

OSB 2 designed for structural use in dry conditions
OSB 2 is a type of engineered wood panel made from strands of wood that are oriented in specific directions and bonded together with a resin binder under high pressure and temperature. In the outer layers, the particles are arranged lengthwisein relation to the length of the board; in the inner layer, they are at right angles to the length of the board. It has good strength and stiffness properties and is relatively inexpensive compared to other building materials. OSB2 is typically used in dry conditions and has a lower resistance to moisture compared to other grades of OSB.

OSB 3

OSB 3 for load-bearing purpose in humid conditions
OSB 3 is designed for use in humid and moist conditions, making it a popular choice for flooring, roof decking, and wall sheathing. It is also commonly used as a structural panel in furniture manufacturing and interior design projects.
Compared to other building materials, OSB 3 is relatively inexpensive and offers excellent structural strength, dimensional stability, and resistance to moisture.

Applications

● Furnitre and decoration
● Packaging
● Load-bearing use in humid conditions
● Wall cladding
● Floor construction

Advantages
● High resistance and stability
● Used as an airtight layer or vapour barrier
