· Key Characteristics: It improves resin flow under demanding pressing conditions, particularly when using textured steel plates.
· Benefits: It maintains high permeability, heat resistance, flexibility, and leveling properties of the impregnated paper.
· Applications: Suitable for various decorative papers used in High Pressure Laminates (HPL) and Low Pressure Laminates (LPL).
Product Performance
During the production of melamine impregnated paper, enhancing the flowability of the resin layer during the impregnation stage is critical, in addition to the specific treatments used during resin synthesis.
· The Challenge: High volatile content can reduce the transparency of the finished board after pressing. Therefore, reducing volatiles during impregnation is necessary. However, low volatile content typically results in a higher degree of pre-curing (reduced flow).
· The Solution: GL-300 significantly improves resin flow and paper flexibility even at low volatile contents.
· The Result: It ensures the smooth production of boards with high gloss, excellent stain resistance, and high clarity/definition.
Usage & Dosage
· Recommended Dosage: Typically 0.5% – 2% based on the weight of the liquid resin.
· Adjustment: The specific dosage should be adjusted by the client based on the required surface finish and specific board requirements.
· Compatibility: Suitable for use during the blending of Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) and Melamine-Formaldehyde (MF) resins.
